I really do love teaching. I love the interactions with students, collaborating with other teachers, and learning new things. I don't love all the political stuff that goes with it but it seems I am getting used to it. I don't know if that's good or bad.
This week I am excited for a few things at school. I am am looking forward to continue reading Beyonders by Brandon Mull to my students. We are getting ready for him to visit our school in April. We are also doing some studying/research this week on St. Patrick's Day and Ireland. The students started this last week and will continue this week. They are certainly enjoying this learning experience. We will will be having corned beef and cabbage, Irish Soda Bread and a few other treats at the end of the week. In math, I have a couple of learning games lined up for this week. It is also 1 week closer to our Spring Break. I have started planning what books to read over that week. I am hoping I can put a dent in my TBR piles! I hope you are looking forward to some things in your classroom this week!
I am counting the weeks for spring break: 3 weeks for me! Reading will be on my agenda then as well. Any good recommendations?
ReplyDeleteI know that I want to read The Runaway King by Jennifer Nielsen. I loved her first book in that series and have been looking forward to the release of this one. I would also like to read We Are Not Eaten By Yaks by C. Alexander London and Fablehaven by Brandon Moss. I should probably throw in a professional read as well!
DeleteNot that I need any more piles of books, but what is in your TBR pile? Mine has a variety of professional books, including Franki Sibberson's THE JOY OF PLANNING as well as kids' books, like THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN. I also have a couple of Anne Lamott books that are calling my name. How about you?
ReplyDeleteI loved The One and Only Ivan!! I have The Joy of Planning as well and need to read that. I know I am going to read The Runaway King by Jennifer Nielsen. I absolutely love the first book in that series, The False Prince. I have some adult books downloaded on my Kindle. I think I downloaded a new James Patterson.
